Glen was deeply devoted to his church communities, actively participating in the life of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gosper County, Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Elwood, and the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery Association. His faith guided his service to others.

He served as a Gosper County Commissioner for over 30 years and contributed his time and leadership to many local organizations, including the Nebraska Region II Human Services Board and the Gosper County Senior Center.
