Elwood, Nebraska

Bilva Jane Hueftle, age 79, of Elwood, Nebraska passed away on Thursday, June 8th, 2011 at her home. She was born in Cambridge, Nebraska, August 23, 1931 to Alton and Frances (Marples) Schultz. 

She attended school in Moorefield, Nebraska and graduated from the Nebraska School of Agriculture in Curtis.  She attended Wesleyan University.  In 1950 she married Chuck Hueftle, and to this union three children were born, they later divorced.  She returned to college and graduated from Kearney State College, in Kearney, Nebraska with a bachelor’s degree in education, and later from the University of Nebraska Omaha with a Masters Degree.  She taught Special Education for twenty-six years before retiring in 1996 and moving to Johnson Lake to be near her family.  In her retirement she enjoyed reading, gardening, travel, winters in Arizona with her special friend Gene, and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Gayle.

She is survived by her special friend Gene Fenton of Elwood, Nebraska

7 grandchildren Lisa (Naeson) Halker of Gretna, Lori (Ryan) Shutts of Sidney, Jason Schutz of Elwood, Natalie (Tom) Nelsen of Holdrege, Jenilea Hueftle of Austin TX, Dakotah (Annika) Hueftle of Kearney, and Kaleb Hueftle of Eustis and six great-grandchildren, Remington and Bellamy Halker, Aidan and Collin Shutts, and Makenzie and Micah Nelsen

& Sister Audrey Bones of Council Bluffs, IA.

& her beloved dog of fourteen years, Ralf.

There will be no viewing or visitation.

Memorial services will be held Monday, June 13th at 10:30 am at the United Methodist Church in Eustis with Pastors Neil Kloppenburg and John Anderson, officiating.  Inurnment will be at the Eustis West Cemetery.  Memorials can be made to the Elwood Senior Center or the Kidney Foundation of Nebraska.  Elwood Funeral Home of Elwood, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements.
